Poor Latinos are victims of abuse nationwide, activists say

These low income immigrants have very little protection by the law. Sometimes it is the police who are taking advantage of them. - - Donna Poisl

By Arthur Brice, CNN

(CNN) -- Low-income Latinos are routinely discriminated against in the South, a new report says, but the study's author and others say the problem exists nationwide, with millions of Spanish-speaking immigrants living "beyond the protection of the law."

The report, released Wednesday by the Southern Poverty Law Center, documents the experiences of 500 immigrants in the South, finding that Latinos routinely are cheated out of wages, are denied basic health protection and fall victim to racial profiling.

"Under Siege: Life for Low-Income Latinos in the South" details stories such as that of a Tennessee woman who says she was jailed at a cheese factory for asking for pay, a bean picker in Alabama who says his life savings were taken by police at a traffic stop, and a rapist in Georgia who was not arrested because the suspect's victim was an undocumented immigrant.
Be sure to read the rest of this story! This is only a small part of it.

It is sad how difficult is find public voice helping immigrants.

Take as a example, my employment authorization this year cost $340, the one before this one was $180.

Who can said something against INS?
OR YOU TAKE IT OR LIVE IT. This is not you country and you are the one who come here.
(In my case Im CUBAN refuge) But Im victim of tricks by INS service because our status is quite different. but when INS see you don't have a good support, well here I'm (I'm talking about how much INS try to take from you asking for things they can have easy... records, etc, but in our case everyone get money, from POST OFFICE obligatory process, to others process you have to fallow by protocol.

Michael More don't look to us, not any spanish congress personal don't fight for us... see each right this country has was win by blood and suffering, not any right was gained by a good heart, NOT A SINGLE ONE, all you see on TV how the entire planet became surprise just because a Black person (was aloud to get the presidency)... In 2009 Immigrant in USA are squeezed by USA government and his population, any one know how are they salary and living condition, and the sad think is the following.

YOU ARE THE ONE WHO COME HERE, OR YOU TAKE IT.. OR LIVE IT.
