Obama's Silence On Immigration Reform Is Deafening

President Obama has been in office six weeks, we all hope this will happen, but must give it a bit more time. - - Donna Poisl

CaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Mar. 6, 2009: Immigrant voters who handed their vote to President Barack Obama last November based on his promise of immigration reform are still waiting for the President to even utter one word on this issue.

Since taking office, Obama has buzzed around and spoken on more issues that fall further below the radar than immigration reform.

Granted that Obama is caught up with the economic woes of the U.S., but not a single word in his 6,134 speech to congress recently was even uttered on immigration.

Appalling for many immigrant advocates especially since Obama is missing the obvious major economic boost immigration reform could bring to the coffers of the U.S.

Based on the much-touted earned legalization plan that has been pushed around since 2006, reform that allows undocumented migrants living in the U.S. to pay a fine, pay back taxes and be put on a path to earned legalization could actually benefit Uncle Sam more than it costs them.
Be sure to read the rest of this story! This is only a small part of it.

"...earned legalization could actually benefit Uncle Sam more than it costs them." You must be kidding. The illegal immigrants usually employed in certain low-income areas (household employees, construction, etc) and earn minimal wages or sometimes even less but raising 3 or more children. They cost a lot to taxpayers (free meds, food stamps, free edu) but they would cost a lot more with an amnesty. Yeh-yeh, they would pay their minimum taxes,... then get it back in tax returns, child support, disability payments, unemployment, other SSI, etc. Everyone who immigrated illegally should go back his/her native country and immigrate again as LEGAL alien, as the US needs them bases. Amnesty in every 10-year wouldn't solve the immigration problem. Yes, US needs immigrants, skilled and unskilled as well, that's why there are certain visas addressing this issue (H visas and green cards through employers). But the US definitely does not need ILLEGAL aliens and their "citizen" children. Give me one country's name which is so nice to their illegals and spend as much on illegals as the U.S. You can not find, do you? I had heard the news the other day when illegal immigrants were arrested who worked with fake social but filed the tax returns under their name. And guess why were they so stupid to file tax returns however they worked with fake social? To get their money back in tax return!!!!!!! They risked the arrest, the jail time and the removal procedure just to get a few hundred dollars back from the government. That's how desperately Uncle Sam needs them.
