Peanut Butter Recall info for Hispanics

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an important notice about hundreds of recalled products that may contain contaminated peanuts or peanut ingredients. The contaminated peanuts and peanut ingredients were used in hundreds of food products, including cookies, crackers and other baked goods, candies, snack bars and snack mixes, fruit and vegetable products with peanut butter, ice cream, and pet foods So far more than 500 cases of food borne illness caused by Salmonella Typhimurium have been reported. Please note that major national brands of jarred peanut butter found in grocery stores are not affected by the recall.

Consumers can also call the Alliance's Su Familia National Hispanic Family Health Helpline at 1-866-SU-FAMILIA or 1-866-783-2645 for information on what products are recalled.
